　　When the new soldering iron is first used, it needs to be tin-coated by welding head, which can make the welding smooth. The tin-coated method is: plug in the power supply, and when the temperature in welding head reaches 260 degrees Celsius, evenly coat the tin wire containing rosin on the welding head; After repeated several times, it is forbidden to polish welding head by file or sandpaper, because it will damage its electroplated metal and greatly reduce its life. The correct method is to use a wet iron sponge (without dripping water) to scrub the sponge repeatedly with tin until welding head returns to metallic luster. The life of welding head is determined according to the number of solder joints, and the guarantee of its life is related to the coating thickness of the head. The thicker the coating, the longer the life of welding head, but the thermal efficiency of conduction will greatly reduce the life of soldering iron tip.

As for the welding head with the same temperature series, the life of thin welding head is shorter than that of thick welding head. Because welding head will inevitably wear on the surface during work, the service life of the iron nozzle will be reduced. Therefore, the thin welding head is simpler and causes wear, thus reducing the service life of the soldering iron nozzle.
